Working in consultation with members of Food Banks of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan SPCA has launched the Emergency Pet Food Bank to assist local families and their pets. Proper nutrition is a vital component in the health and wellbeing of all animals. By creating the Emergency Pet Food Bank, we can ensure that pet owners are able to provide this important necessity for their furry companions.

The positive impact that animals have on human lives is well documented. Improved mental and physical health, as well as unconditional love and companionship are key factors of the bond between people and their pets. Many of us consider our beloved animals to be members of the family. The goal of the Emergency Pet Food Bank is to alleviate one of the many pressures faced by families that may be struggling to ensure all members of the family are fed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to ensuring nutritional needs are met, the Emergency Pet Food Bank aims to prevent families from being forced into a position where they have to decide whether they keep their pet or surrender the pet to a shelter or rescue.
How can you help?
You can support the Emergency Pet Food Bank by making a donation to the Saskatchewan SPCA's Emergency Pet Food Bank Fund. Proceeds from the Fund will be used to supply our food bank partners with pet food for their local community.
