Executive Director Frances Wach
The Saskatchewan SPCA is proud to report that Executive Director Frances Wach has been nominated for a YWCA Women of Distinction Award. Frances has been nominated under the category of “Leadership & Professions Award” which recognizes leaders, professionals, and managers who inspire positive change, and who are role models in their profession and community involvement. Here is a copy of what was printed in the Friday April 10, 2015 Saskatoon Star Phoenix:
Executive Director of the Saskatchewan SPCA, Frances Wach has guided the Society through 20 years of growth. She worked for more than a decade as a social worker before becoming involved with animal welfare, and understands the correlation between animal cruelty and interpersonal violence. She has been involved in initiatives related to cat overpopulation, feral horses, care for animals in need, and retired working dogs. She is leading efforts to find ways to provide care for pets and livestock owned by women who need to escape domestic violence. Frances is involved with the STOPS to Violence Task Committee and the Immigrant Access Fund.
