The Ministry of Agriculture announced a funding agreement with a new agency to handle enforcement of animal cruelty legislation in Saskatchewan.
The new agency will be called Animal Protection Services of Saskatchewan. It will officially launch on April 1st.
Their new toll-free number is 1.844.382.0002. Their website is www.animalprotectionservices.ca and email address is info@animalprotectionservices.ca.
Four members of the Saskatchewan SPCA staff — Kaley Pugh, Laura Vany, Ashley Detillieux and Stacey Greke — will be working full-time with the new agency. We appreciate the professionalism and commitment these individuals have shown during their years of service to the Saskatchewan SPCA. We will miss them and wish them all the best in their new roles with Animal Protection Services.
The Saskatchewan SPCA will continue its work to ensure the humane treatment of animals. Our role will focus on education and the prevention of animal cruelty.
