The Saskatchewan SPCA is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to assist in the planning and development of educational and community-based projects.
A registered charity established in 1928, the Saskatchewan SPCA is the voice for animals and their people. We educate and promote the wellbeing of animals. As change-makers, we advance policy, with a focus on ensuring the sustained humane treatment of animals.
The successful applicant will work with a great group of people who are committed to improving the lives of animals and their people.
Research and create content for a new website focusing on animal care
Provide support for the operation of current SaskSPCA programs including the Emergency Pet Food Bank
Research and write social media messages and newsletter articles
Educational background in veterinary technology, agriculture, English, journalism, or other related discipline
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Previous experience with animal rescues or shelters rescues is an asset
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders
Interest in promoting animal welfare
Please note: The selection process will include a personal interview and criminal record background check.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) for an 8-week term. The position is based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. For more information about the Saskatchewan SPCA, see www.saskspca.ca.
Funding is provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be aged between 15 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
